Everyone does it a little differently, but I usually hand it to them as I'm taking their final sentencing sheet and say,
"Did you have fun tonight?" (They usually answer "yes.") "Well, since you had so much fun, you can feel free to leave your name and information here. We're the Murder Mystery Company, and we'd love to come murder for you! We have many different themes to choose from and can do a show like this for as few as 8 people or as many as 500. We even do shows for kids.
We are playing a game. The most important thing is teaching the rules to our customers before we start.
Come dressed to impress! Research your Suspect and dress the era.
As Example, If it's 1920's wear a flapper dress
See the Suspect, Be the Suspect! Put your Actor talents to work. Become who you are cast as.
The audience is dying to interact with you. This can be so much fun to talk with them as your Character.
Good, Bad, Great Show. Putting a smile on makes the show that much better. If your audience sees you smiling, it puts them at ease.
Follow the 4 Corner rule. You want to be intermingling with the audience as much as possible.
Suspects control the music cues. This is very helpful to the Lead and Host. They are focused on delivering the show.
People will be coming up to you to ask you for clues. Have a couple of clues to share about another suspect.
Got your breath-mints? You’ll be talking with potential suspects, and we can’t have anymore deaths by the Garlic bagel you had before the show?
Have you washed your costume parts lately? if you drop it on the floor and it stands up like your wearing it, it’s definitely time for a cleaning.
Relax and have fun!
